What’s Confidentiality?
Health professionals must keep their discussions with patients confidential. We are not usually allowed to tell anyone about what’s been said. But, there are exceptions:
- If you agree, we can tell other people.
- If we suspect you’re being abused or are in danger, we are allowed to tell appropriate professionals, but we will discuss that with you at the time.
Our confidentiality posters at The Parallel explain this in detail.
We will also give you a How we use your records leaflet on your first visit.
